Job Summary: Experimental test pilot for the development and certification of Part 23 airplanes

Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Safely conduct flight tests for aircraft development and certification projects.
  • Work with flight test engineers and design engineers to develop test plans and procedures.
  • Participate in test safety review process to ensure tests are conducted safely and appropriate safety mitigations are in place after flight.
  • Participate in design meetings to provide pilot-oriented evaluations of proposed designs.
  • Coordinate and conduct flights with FAA test pilots during certification test phase.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • 10+ years’ experience as a flight test pilot. on program pursuing FAA/TCCA/EASA Certification
  • Read and speak English fluently.
  • Articulate work requirements clearly though both written and verbal communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet program objectives, scheduled milestones and completion dates.
  • Possess willingness to go above and beyond in meeting program objectives when necessary.
  • Interact well in a team environment (friendly, courteous, kind, and respectful).
  • Ability to clearly express opinions and make recommendations to management based on test results and experience.
  • Appropriate pilots license and medical.
  • Multi-engine jet type rating
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in relevant engineering or technical field.
  • Test Pilot School Graduate or equivalent.
  • FAA DER/UM and or ODA experience.
  • A demonstrated capability to work within the engineering organization to inform vehicle design early, rather than identifying problems later in the development process
