Role: Manager, Accounts Payable (6-month contract)

Compensation: $90K-$107K annual base salary
Role Summary:

As the AP Manager, you'll be at the forefront of our mission, ensuring our procure-to-pay (P2P) process operates flawlessly. This pivotal role enables us to continue producing entertainment that keeps audiences captivated.
This role will oversee a dedicated team of 5 direct reports, including 3 Accounts Payable Invoice Processors responsible for handling invoice entries and verifications, a Vendor Management Specialist tasked with overseeing vendor relations and onboarding, and a Payments Analyst who will manage disbursement processes and financial reconciliations.
Your duties will encompass ensuring compliance with both local regulations and internal policies, guaranteeing the integrity of vendor records, banking, and tax information. You will play a critical role in preventing fraud, verifying vendor data for accuracy, overseeing our travel and expense process, and ensuring timely vendor payments. Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, including Finance, Treasury, Cash Planning and Tax, you will ensure that vendor records meet regional tax regulations and are properly classified for tax purposes. Your goal will be to align AP operations with the financial and operational needs of the business, ensuring a smooth P2P process.
This role demands exceptional attention to detail, outstanding communication and management skills, and the capacity to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Role Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
  • Direct and manage the accounts payable team responsible for accounts payable and travel & expense activities across multiple legal entities and currencies.
  • Establish effective communication channels with stakeholders including vendors, department heads, and senior management to ensure transparency and alignment on accounts payable policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the primary point of escalation for accounts payable inquiries, demonstrating outstanding customer service skills to address and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships and assist with accurate financial reporting, ensuring compliance with KSOX, internal policies, and external regulations.
  • Review and approve new vendor onboarding and changes to existing vendor records to mitigate fraud.

Risk Management and Compliance:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks associated with accounts payable and vendor management.
  • Assist the Accounting & Tax teams with audit and regulatory efforts, including financial statement audit requests, tax information requests, and 1099/1042 processing.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process including recording journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.

Process Improvement and Collaboration:
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the accounts payable team, driving productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Drive process and systems enhancements through targeted initiatives to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and scalability for the organization.
  • Collaborate with financial planning and cash planning teams on reporting and payment analysis.

Requirements & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience, with at least 3 years managing a diverse and global team, preferably in the entertainment industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Experience in developing and enforcing accounts payable policies and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Employ exceptional time management abilities to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial transactions and records.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with filing 1099, 1042 and other filings such as VAT.
  • Experience with ERP systems, such as SAP and Concur.
  • Familiarity with audit processes and requirements, with experience supporting external audits. Direct SOX or KSOX experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Managing CSM systems, such as Fresh Desk or JIRA is a plus.
