WHO WE ARE
Licking County Alcohol Prevention Program, or LAPP, is a non-profit community behavioral health center, has been providing quality behavioral healthcare to adults and adolescents for more than 56 years and seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals living with mental health issues and substance use disorders. We offer our staff an environment where ideas and contributions are recognized and valued. LAPP generally sees over 1200 new clients per year. Over the years the agency has developed a significant number of new and innovative programs in the community including, but not limited to, the Step One Program at the Licking County Justice Center, the Options 72 Hour Driver Intervention Program, a comprehensive gender-specific women's program that was the first in the county, some of the first treatment programs in the county, an intensive outpatient program, employee assistance programs (EAP), Department of Transportation services, drug-free workplace programs and training for other organizations, the first youth treatment program in the county and other similar services.
Are you excited about this Corrections Substance Use Services Coordinator job?As the Jail Substance Use Services Coordinator at LAPP, you will play a crucial role in supporting inmates at the Licking County Justice Center facing substance use challenges. Working collaboratively with Jail Administration, Social Workers, the courts/probation officers, and community professionals, you will conduct screenings, assessments, and provide interventions to address addiction issues. Your responsibilities will include facilitating group sessions, assisting in reentry plans, and connecting individuals with essential services upon release to promote successful rehabilitation and reduce recidivism.
With opportunities to engage in both individual and group settings, this role requires a compassionate and proactive approach towards helping individuals navigate the complexities of substance use disorders. Additionally, your commitment to maintaining reliable transportation and facilitating linkages to community resources will be essential in ensuring seamless care management for those in need.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Screening, assessments, report writing, data collection, group facilitation, education, intervention, case management
- Effective communication and collaborative work with various professionals
- LSW or LCDC II or higher is required
