Summary: This position is responsible for operating single needle sewing machines as well as post bed sewing machines. Operator metrics must be met daily and are monitored by the Production Manager and Embroidery Supervisor. This position reports to the Embroidery Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for sewing bucket bands, paracords, cotton labels, patches and other applique onto Legacy/Ouray/Locale headwear, knits, and apparel as needed, with the required attention to detail.
  2. Operate a single needle sewing machine and post bed machine independently. This includes reading work orders, tending to embroidery issues as they arise, basic machine maintenance such as cleaning/oiling, proper threading of needles, and daily attention to bobbin tensions.
  3. Sew a minimum of 200 units per shift depending on experience and type of work produced.
  4. Have an understanding of all thread types and colors, Legacy/Ouray/Locale headwear and knit styles, colors, and embellishment techniques.
  5. Ability to recognize quality in the work produced such as proper logo location, proper applique placement, good quality embroidery, etc. Attention to detail is a must.
  6. Adhere to safety standards and procedures. Notify management of any safety concerns.
  7. Communicate any questions or concerns to the floor lead or supervisor.

Essential Functions:

Operate sewing machines safely and efficiently to maintain tact time.

  1. Work on special projects as needed.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

Previous experience sewing in a production setting required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a production environment. This role routinely uses industrial embroidery machines and basic sewing\embroidery tools.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. This position requires you to be seated for up to 10 hours per day, as well as excellent hand and wrist dexterity.
