Description

Williams Consulting, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented Public Health Technical Writer/Communications Specialist with enterprise-wide experience in driving process and business quality assurance and integrity efforts across multiple programs for the Federal government. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing documentation to support projects for federal agencies. Your ability to transform complex information into accessible and visually appealing content is essential.

 

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support communications planning, development of materials, and stakeholders education.
  • Create and review reports, training materials, surveys and documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity and adherence to standards and guidelines.
  • Analyze, author, or edit business and technical documents.
  • Develop comprehensive, standardized, and efficient quality management processes through the creation of SOPs, policies, tools, and checklists.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to gather information for documentation development.
  • Create and maintain user-friendly documentation, including user guides, training manuals, quick reference guides, and FAQs.
  • Develop visually engaging graphics to enhance documentation, training and newsletters.
  • Perform 508 compliance checks on all deliverables to ensure they meet federal government standards.
  • Develop, edit, and proofread project deliverables and communications for accuracy, consistency and clarity.
  • Develop and improve new and existing quality control checks to enhance program integrity and coordination across multiple programs to support rapid decision-making and execution.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

  Qualifications and Experience

  • A./B.S. degree in Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field
  • A minimum of 8 years’ proven experience in technical writing, communications, public relations, quality assurance review and graphics development, particularly in the healthcare field.
  • Experience in federal contracting is a plus.
  • Strong graphic design skills with proficiency in graphics software.
  • Exceptional plain language writing and editing skills with an eye for detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Customer-focused with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and efficient time management.
  • Knowledge of health equity, healthcare industry standards, regulations, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Advanced understanding of and ability to conform to Section 508 requirements.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and a positive work ethic in all situations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities.
  • Background investigation required.
  • Ability to pass Federal Public Trust clearance.

Working Conditions and Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or listen. The position involves standing, sitting, squatting, and other normal office-related physical activities. Must be able to sit and read computer screens for extended periods.
