Position Summary:

The primary function of this position is to assist the technologist to ensure patient comfort and exceptional service while providing complete, accurate information to patients, staff, ARC physicians, and referring physicians to support the highest standard of compassionate patient care and efficient operations. Knowledgeable Patient Care Assistant will have a full understanding of the company vision.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 4pm-9pm and Saturdays 6:45am-3:15pm

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth, compassion, and demonstrated commitment to exceptional service.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, members of the team, referral sources, and others to provide necessary information as well as answer questions or concerns.
  • Escort patients to and from waiting room and reviewing appropriate documents
  • Assist technologist with setting up patients for exams
  • Provide and explain exam preps to patients, if necessary seek assistance from technologists or physicians.
  • Optimizes patient satisfaction by improving registration time and efficiency.
  • Scan documents accurately.
  • Ensure that incoming faxes are delivered and/or acted on immediately.
  • Maintain records of all outside reads; ensure that results are communicated on time.
  • Respects patient confidentiality by adhering to HIPAA standards.
  • Adheres to all department/facility policies
  • Maintaining cleanliness of dressing rooms and exam rooms.
  • Registering patients as needed at the front desk as needed.
  • May assist other staff members with their duties as workload dictates.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in patient care and exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Proficient computer skills and data entry skills.
  • Listen to feedback or constructive criticism from management and apply it to themselves.
  • Critical thinking – the ability to think creatively, problem solve and work independently.

Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
