Southern Staircase is looking for an Operations Supervisor to supervise the production of stairs, manage, inventory, ensure projects stay on schedule, meet safety and quality standards, and deliver exceptional customer service.


Essential Functions:

· Manage and supervise the daily operations of the production floor, ensuring all processes are running smoothly and efficiently.

· Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production workers, ensuring proper training, performance management, and adherence to safety protocols.

· Manage inventory and warehouse activities.

· Foster a positive work environment, promoting teamwork, communication, and accountability among staff.

· Ensure an injury-free culture is created by committed leaders and involved associates, backed by strong safety systems.

· Engage associates in safely manufacturing of stairs that meets customer needs and driving improvement in key business metrics.

· Conduct regular inspections of work processes and finished products to identify areas for improvement.

· Address any production issues or defects promptly and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

· Coach and lead in the overall manufacturing process

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Job Competencies:

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills

· A clear understanding of manufacturing policies and procedures, applicable federal, state, local and company safety policies and procedures

· Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with proven record of positive accomplishments in safety, quality, productivity, cost and people development

· Manufacturing experience in Wood Products is preferred.

· Previous experience with ERP systems preferred.

· Previous supervisory experience.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills.

· Strong planning and organizational skills

· Able to work flexible hours as needed in a mill environment.

· Working knowledge of Lean, Innovation, and continuous improvement tools preferred.


Physical Demands:

· Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.

· Must be able to traverse and access all areas of the warehouse.


Work Environment:

This is a full-time position.
