Quality Supervisor/Lead Inspector Overview:

Operates all Quality Management System (QMS) related activities within the Company. Provides daily oversight and direction for the role of Quality in meeting Key Performance Indicators (Inspection, IPS’s, NCR, ECN, etc.).


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct all QMS activities driving a quality-based Company Culture rooted in AS9100 practices and the pursuit of CNC Machining excellence.
  • Operate the internal Non-Conforming Material reporting (NCR), Cost of Quality (COQ) systems. Review and report related data as required to support a continuous improvement environment. Support purchasing as required.
  • Operate the external Return Material Authorization (RMA) process. In conjunction with Engineering, review/develop rework and or deviation/waiver proposals.
  • Prepare customer required documentation (PPAP, ISIR and others) as required. Assit with source inspections.
  • Supervise inspectors by providing work order priority and technical support. Includes identifying training opportunities to build the inspection team.
  • Develop In Process Inspection (IPI) documentation in collaboration with Engineering and Operations to maximize efficiency so that the critical/key features are inspected/documented with minimal disruption while meeting customer and quality requirements
  • Develop CMM/Vision System inspection strategies including programming and/or assisting in programming as required
  • Conduct and/or assist in first piece inspections and communicate results with relevant parties in a timely manner so that, if necessary, adjustments can be made to make a compliant part or if the part is conforming production may continue
  • Work with Machinists on a on-going basis to ensure that they understand the quality/inspection requirements that the actions that they’re taking have a high probability of making a conforming part
Requirements:

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field
  • 3+ years with quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervision experience a plus but not required
  • Strong leadership & communication skills
  • Blueprint reading skills (including GD&T)
  • Familiarity with Inspection software (ie: PCDMIS, Zone 3, etc.)
