Department: PARCS - MOAH

Hourly Range: $26.79 - $31.01

Classification: Temporary

Non-Exempt – Overtime Eligible


Job Summary:

Under general supervision, provides oversight for exhibitions and special programs at the Lancaster Museum of Art and History. This role will be responsible for leading a small team of Technical Assistants in the development of exhibitions, special projects, and other curatorial initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • May oversee Technical Assistants


Example of Duties & Responsibilities:

Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work closely with MOAH’s Curatorial staff to develop and implement the museum’s exhibition program
  • Liaise with artists to develop exhibition text that accurately represents their work to the public
  • Conduct professional and concise studio visits with artists
  • Interface with artists and other community stakeholders to develop innovative public programs
  • Facilitate public programs such as artist talks, workshops, and tours
  • Lead and schedule a small team of 1 to 3 staff members supporting a roster of regular exhibition programs
  • Train incoming members of the Curatorial team
  • Evaluate the museum’s current roster of programs
  • Develop press copy and other marketing collaterals, as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance
