With 13 clinic locations across Texas—9 in DFW, 2 in Houston, and 2 in Austin—Goodside Health is at the forefront of pediatric urgent care. Our services span multiple healthcare delivery verticals, including brick-and-mortar pediatric urgent care, adult and pediatric telemedicine, and SchoolMed, our innovative school-based healthcare service.

The Role


We are on the hunt for sharp and innovative Utility Players who share our core values: Passion, Humility, Adaptability, Nurture, and Experience. These clinicians, typically Certified Medical Assistants and Licensed Vocational Nurses, embody the true definition of a team player. Our core values are at the heart of everything we do


The term “Utility Player” refers to a versatile clinician responsible for covering front desk and reception (including insurance verification and patient registration), back-office care, triaging, radiology, curbside labs, and many other essential duties to ensure our clinics run smoothly. Above all, Utility Players are warm, humble, passionate about healthcare, and dedicated to providing 5-star care to our patients and their families.

The Culture and Team

Alongside the Clinic Management team, our clinicians are supported by the Clinical Operations team. This team collaborates closely with the clinics on inventory management, continuing education, and other initiatives to ensure optimal performance.

We celebrate our achievements together on our Employee Engagement Platform, Assembly. We maintain open communication with our C-Suite Executives and stay informed about company updates through monthly Company Town Halls. Additionally, our People Operations team regularly conducts open surveys to gather input on the employee experience.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Triage patients upon arrival
  • Communicate with the provider when the patient is ready, providing a brief summary of symptoms and any abnormal vitals
  • Document and summarize visits in the EMR system (eMDs)
  • Assist the provider with procedures and patient care, including splinting, radiology, vaccines, medication administration, and phlebotomy
  • Administer and document medication as directed by the provider
  • Prepare, clean, and maintain exam and treatment rooms
  • Obtain labs and call back patients with results
  • Provide patient education at the end of the visit and address any follow-up questions
  • Position patients for radiology procedures and remove all artifacts (training provided by UC4K)
  • Handle front office responsibilities including insurance verification, patient registration, answering phones, and performing monetary transactions
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

The Woodlands Clinic Hours of Operation:

Monday - Friday: 12:00pm – 9:00pm

Saturday / Sunday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Requirements:


  • Passion for working with children
  • Experience in a Pediatric Office, Pediatric Hospital, or Urgent Care within the past 3 years, with a minimum duration of 6 months
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a Texas license
  • BLS certification required (online renewal accepted by the American Heart Association)
  • Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, basic clinical procedures, CLIA-Waived Testing, and EMR software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
