Role Overview:

As the Controller at a Data and Analytics Consulting Firm, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations, reporting, and compliance aspects for the company. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining financial health, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making within the company.

Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget, analyze variances, and provide insights to support decision-making.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to management, stakeholders, and external parties as required.
  • Coordinate and oversee the annual audit process, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and timely completion of audit deliverables.

Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including tax filings, reporting requirements, and other statutory obligations.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance and best practices.

Strategic Support:

  • Collaborate with executive management to develop financial strategies, business plans, and budgets aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making, investment evaluations, and resource allocation.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities to enhance team performance and capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (5 - 10 years) in a financial management role, preferably in a consulting or professional services firm.
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, regulations, and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in a consulting environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, and generate insights to support decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, explicitly Sage Intacct; experience with data analytics tools and technologies is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance.
