Position Summary:

The Inventory Coordinator is a key role within the Inventory team, responsible for coordinating and integrating inventory controls across all departments to enhance and ensure inventory accuracy. This position will be responsible for inventory accuracy of all finished goods, raw materials, work in progress, packaging, hold product and accurate dispositions of inventory for local plants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and improve inventory transactions including DP, Receiving, Production, Shipping, Inventory, Customer Service, and Production Scheduling.
  • Monitor and control inventory integrity and resolve inventory problems on a timely manner including documenting and controlling aged & damaged product, transfer errors, issuing and adjustments errors, negative quantities and other inventory inaccuracies.
  • Maintain and deliver inventory accuracy reports for Senior Management including daily inventory reports, adjustment reports, IM reports, Hold reports, Expired Finished Good reports, Expired Raw reports, Expired Prep reports, and any other miscellaneous report that is requested by management.
  • Provide support on company dump and donations savings programs by reviewing hold location, reworked product and extending product shelf life when necessary.
  • Plans and executes month end inventory audits. Manages and fixes all outstanding inventory issues, and creates all necessary reports.
  • Plans and leads year-end inventory audits by partnering with external auditor and Plant Controller and ensuring successful inventory audit is completed and leads the auditor on the floor to verify physical inventory. Ensures inventory is cycle counted and corrected, all documentation is prepared and organized, and all requested documentation is presented.
  • Leads and coaches Inventory Control clerical staff on a daily basis by training on job responsibilities, delegating work assignments, creating work schedules and ensures all inventory associates are managing their work accurately and efficiently.
  • Trains and support other departments on inventory functions, accuracy and ensures compliance to inventory program.
  • Creates stand operating procedures for inventory accuracy for all departments.
  • Partners with the Information Technology department to fix system errors, add/delete locations, set up new users, approve elevated accesses to inventory associates, and other system related matters.
  • IT Power user for inventory improvements including DSI, JDE Support / Test program changes.
  • Support Operational Supervision staff on Projects/Saving Programs.
  • Other job duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 3-5 years of relevant work experience, or Bachelor’s in Business with 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • 4-6 years of related inventory experience preferred; previous manufacturing or distribution center experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills; comprehension of basic math.
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to multitask.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, ability to climb stairs numerous times a day.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
