In this role of the Overnight Front Desk, you will be responsible for closing the day operationally (bar, reservations, lobby), and preparing for the new day operationally (laundry, reservations review, breakfast setup). This role is perfect for someone who prefers to work independently but enjoys being part of a team. The perfect candidate is reliable, well organized and task oriented.



Responsibilities

  • Close down the front desk/POS drawers if needed, note discrepancies
  • Review the front desk, bar, and lobby and spot clean as needed 
  • Property walk to ensure public areas are presentable, secured and prepped for the following day
  • Review the reservations and make sure IDs are on file, charges are correct 
  • Carry an overnight phone at all times and answer any requests
  • Respond to any guest complaints, requests, and emergencies 
  • Brew the first pot of coffee 
  • Set up the breakfast area 
  • Run washers/dryers, fold and organize laundry
  • Check in with the morning shift and review any items that need to be taken care of
  • Assist General Manager with end-of-month reports as needed
  • Monitor the property overnight 
  • Any other requests assigned by management


Skills & Required Qualifications

  • Must be 21 years of age or older 
  • At least 1 year of hotel front desk experience
  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, banking, and the analysis and reporting of financial data 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Expert computer skills, ability to compose and create reports, letters, memos, and procedures 
  • Mature judgment and professionalism in handling all matters 
  • Required knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as managing files and records and other office processes, procedures, and terminology
  • Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing 
  • Excellent math skills 
  • Strong customer service skills 
  • Excellent organization and problem-solving skills 
  • Knowledge of the Hotel’s Property Management Software/POS
  • Understanding and approval of the Hotel McCoy Culture (Travel for All)
  • Business correspondence writing skills 
  • G-suite: Gmail, Gchat, Google Docs, and Sheets 
  • Required: Must obtain state alcohol serving permit/sanitation training within first two weeks of hire (company provided)


WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT: 


  •  Reaches, bends, stoops, lifts, carries and pushes. 
  •  Lifts and carries supplies, and cases, weighing up to 25 lbs. 
  •  Essential hand/eye coordination 
  •  Work is normally performed in a typical interior and exterior hotel, work environment 
  •  Noise level is moderate 
  •  Limited exposure to physical risk 
  •  Moderate physical effort required 
  •  May require moving for extended periods.
