At Cocoon House, we partner young people, families, and communities in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing, and prevention. The Data Quality and Training Specialist, internally known as the Data Quality Analyst (DQA), works as part of the agency’s Data & Impact Team to support agency programs in meeting requirements for timely, accurate, and complete data entry. The DQA provides ongoing training, support, and coaching to database users. The DQA generates and analyzes reports to identify and address quality assurance, training needs, and system improvements. Additionally, the DQA supports programs through entering and evaluating data in external databases.

Database Quality & Training Specialist Duties & Responsibilities

Full-Time | Hybrid on-site and remote

Wages: $21-$23/hr DOE | +$1.50/hr pay differential for multi-lingual skills with additional paperwork


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Estimated breakdown of responsibilities: 40% training and staff support, 25% generating and analyzing data reports, 25% data entry, and 10% meetings and other duties as assigned.

  • Build effective and collaborative working relationships within the team and throughout the agency to advance team goals and the agency mission.
  • Provide initial and ongoing training to all internal database users to ensure that staff have the understanding and tools needed to meet data entry requirements.
  • Create and maintain training and reference materials for data users. Evaluate efficacy of tools and training and provide individualized support when needed.
  • Perform regular data analysis tasks including generating regular and ad-hoc reports to ensure that data entered by program staff is complete and accurate. Generate additional reports as needed to further agency goals.
  • Provide data analysis to support the team in monitoring program performance, identifying staff training needs, and identifying system improvement needs.
  • Complete data entry tasks in external data systems with a focus on ensuring complete, accurate, and timely data. Databases utilized include CaseWorthy and ClientTrack. Identify and address data discrepancies and training needs.
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team; use problem-solving skills and manage priorities as needed to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Attend internal and external meetings in person and virtually as required. Professionally represent the team and agency in meetings and communication with internal and external partners.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate MS Excel skills with the ability to accurately read and understand data sets, develop and use spreadsheets for tracking tasks, and to sort and manipulate data
  • Strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to support program staff and work collaboratively to ensure accurate and timely data entry
  • Proven organizational, time management, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet multiple shifting deadlines
  • Reliable transportation/capacity for occasional travel to any Cocoon House site within Snohomish County

General Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • DCYF background clearance
  • Acceptable driver's abstract with no more than 2 violations within last 3 years
  • Possess a valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation
  • This is a hybrid role requiring at least three full days a week working on-site in an open office environment and two remote days per week. Schedule to be determined based on employee and agency needs.
