Job DescriptionJob Description

BARR Credit Services is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Coordinator to join our Commercial Collections team. As a Legal Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the legal aspects of our commercial collections efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a liaison between the attorney and client.
  • Manage approximately 35-40 accounts daily.
  • Maintains frequent communications with clients via phone calls and emails regarding reports and account status.
  • Ensure that the attorney is moving forward in the best interests of the client.
  • Conduct research such as skip tracing.
  • Initiates contact with debtors via letters, telephone, fax, or email in compliance with applicable industry laws, regulations and company collection practices, policies and/or procedures.
  • Mediates, negotiates, or arbitrates payment terms and resolutions per company policies and client requirements, if any.
  • Close accounts as appropriate when the debtor has no assets and/or is no longer in business.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal coordinator or paralegal, preferably in the collection industry
  • Ability to interpret and translate legal terminology
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
