As Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for executing spot third-party base oil purchases and intermediates and manage day to day activity for existing term supply on behalf of Energy & Specialty Solutions (E&SS).

Strategic Sourcing Manager Job Duties:

  • Responsible for executing spot third-party base oil purchases and intermediates and manage day to day activity for existing term supply on behalf of Energy & Specialty Solutions (E&SS).
  • Drive third party purchasing and cross-functional coordination with Refinery Supply Team and E&SS to develop purchase plans to balance inventory with customer service and sales commitments. Attend weekly meetings as needed.
  • Work with others in technical and refinery groups to review and drive opportunities for continuous improvement and to deliver gross margin
  • Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships. Regularly check in with existing suppliers and take initiative to connect with new potential suppliers.
  • Manage day to day relationships with strategic offtake partners acting as a liaison and spokesperson on behalf of Ergon. Review daily inventories ensuring supply and demand is balanced. Lead and troubleshoot imbalances. Lead monthly and quarterly meetings with strategic third-party partnerships.
  • Attend industry and networking events as needed
  • Approves and distributes monthly KPI Reporting on third-party purchases.
  • Support Near Term Planning (NTP) Supply team meetings and discussion of purchases.
  • Responsible for supporting third party purchasing for North America and other regions on an as needed basis (e.g., ERI, EWV, Ergon Mexico, etc.).
  • Support E&SS team and Accounting with annual fiscal budgeting and business planning associated with third-party purchasing.
  • Drives continuous improvement of the third-party purchasing process.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Strategic Sourcing Manager Job Requirements:

  • College degree
  • 3-10 years minimum in refinery operations, production planning, technical or sales support.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Ability to plan effectively
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams and support other departments
  • Exhibit good judgment, dependability, initiative and a positive attitude
  • Successfully manages internal and external relationships
  • Negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills that allow problem resolution, mediation, and the ability to successfully work in a team environment.
  • Good attention to detail, accurate
  • Creative problem solving and continuing improvement mindset.
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Package skills
