Job Summary

Function as a technical expert who supervises the daily operations in the department and addresses issues as they pertain to trouble shooting, quality control, production scheduling, training, equipment maintenance and general daily supervision of your department.

What You’ll Do…

  • Directs and coordinates production operations to obtain utmost and ongoing efficiency
  • Implements ongoing quality improvement processes working with other departments
  • Develops and enforces standard operational procedures and work practices and policies to ensure consistency of output
  • Develops project schedules and allocates resources as needed to ensure all deliverables are produced defect free and aligned with technical specifications
  • Verify that press operators are meeting customer expectations and ensure operators are following MPI instructions
  • Verify colors by matching to customer approved color controls or legacy color controls
  • Basic machine maintenance
  • Receive verbal or written instructions from Production manager and communicate back information as needed
  • Read and understand production order / job traveler and utilize computer job tracking system
  • As needed, set up and run digital machines
  • Maintain accurate inventory balances
  • Maintain efficiency and quality benchmarks per MPI standards
  • Maintain efficiency and quality benchmarks thru proper use of digital press, digital files/rip, vinyl product, established job proofs and time management
  • Provide feedback to planning via ECN
  • Ensure that employee training is given as required for your employees to succeed
  • Maintain organized and clean work environment
  • Enter recommendations to management for improvements in areas such as personal safety improved product quality better rates and yields, or any other matters that impact shop costs or employee’s health

CRITICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ Years experience leading others in manufacturing and/or print shop environment
  • 5+ Years experience in wide format digital printing preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Knowledge of raw materials
  • Managing quality systems and standards
  • Experience managing safety standards and compliance
  • Ability to execute process improvement techniques
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices
  • Knowledge and experience of machines and tools
  • Solid computer skills.

What You’ll Bring…

  • Familiarity using graphics applications like Adobe Illustrator, Photo Shop, and print rip soft wares
