About being our Senior Database Administrator

As our Senior Database Administrator, you'll maintain the integrity, performance, and security of our client's database systems. You'll design and maintain robust, scalable databases for our cloud-based solutions, optimizing and troubleshooting as needed. Working closely with a skilled project team, you'll leverage the latest technologies to solve complex problems and drive innovation.


Responsibility Highlights for our Senior Database Administrator

  • Proactively detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention
  • Design and implement database solutions that incorporate business logic, data validation, exception handling, and automated reporting.
  • Follow necessary quality assurance methodologies to ensure that the database code meets the expected performance and scalability requirements
  • Perform performance tuning and query optimization using tools such as Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • Apply good testing methodologies to ensure the reliability and integrity of database systems.
  • Manage and work with software version control systems such as TFS, CVS, or Subversion.
  • Provide expert-level troubleshoot client issues related to system architecture and review and vet software products and/or applications.

Minimum Qualifications to be our Senior Database Administrator

  • 8+ years production DBA experience
  • 8+ years database development experience utilizing TSQL for creating database objects i.e. Tables, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and Views
  • 8+ years experience in database optimization and query optimization techniques including ability to read query execution plans
  • Certified Microsoft Azure Database Administrator
  • Experience working with the following: Azure, ETL, ERD, Partitioning, Data Modeling, SQL Manage Instance, Always On to manage failover
  • Microsoft Azure Service Bus and SQL MI Concepts
  • Knowledgable with Microsoft SQL Server and ability to write SQL Queries and Stored Procedures

Preferred Qualifications for our Database Administrator

  • Experience with CLR (C#)
  • Custom web applications (these are City of LA developed)
  • Enterprise web applications
  • Cloud computing concepts in addition to on-premise solutions
  • Software integration solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
