Local Community Support / Caregivers (NON TRAVEL) 13-Week Contract

Job Type: Full Time

Overtime: 1-40 hours a week as available 

Location: Clackamas County – Multiple Mental Health Facilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Deliver training, support, and assistance to residents in the areas of personal care, recreation, leisure, daily living skills, social skills, health needs, personal preferences, exercising of individual rights, community integration, and behavior management. 

  • Participate in the design, implementation and monitoring of individualized resident support plans. 

  • Accurately administer prescribed medications to residents as ordered by physicians. 

  • Accurately complete required documentation including but not limited to program data, incident reports, daily log, progress notes, and health records. 

  • Ensure resident health and safety at all times including but not limited to prevention of abuse as directed by policy #3.0.1, perform CPR, perform Standard First Aid, perform Heimlich procedure, and evacuate consumers in case of a fire. 

  • Prepare resident meals following published menus 

  • Demonstrate respect for, and courtesy to residents, co-workers, extended team members, families, supervisors, and visitors at all times. 

  • Transport residents using agency vehicles or public transportation as assigned. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures. 

  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings as assigned. 

  • Attend and participate in all scheduled training sessions as assigned. Complete housekeeping and yard maintenance as assigned. 

  • Comply with all applicable state and federal regulations. 

Job Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • 3+ years of experience working with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

  • Must have an updated and valid Driver's License.

  • Must be 100% flexible as facility resident needs will dictate schedule and location.

  • Ability to obtain Standard First Aid and CPR certification within 10 days of employment

  • Must maintain an acceptable criminal history background as determined by the Oregon Health Authority Background Check Unit

  • Some positions in this job classification require driving records acceptable by the facilities automobile insurance carrier. 

  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the patient.

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on a daily basis.

  • Recent PPD Test or Chest X-Ray
