Summary:

The Cost Control Engineer assists the Project Controls Manager in managing all aspects of a project including the organization, planning, scheduling, subcontractor scheduling, and day-to-day issues, in a manner that results in the completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds the customer's expectations. In addition, ensuring proper company/customer procedures are followed, and established budgets and schedules are adhered to.

Job Description:

MMR is seeking Cost Engineer candidates with at least 3 years of construction experience. The responsibilities would include, but not limited to, the following:

  • The cost engineer will assist the project controls team in managing timekeeping, purchasing, and subcontracts.
  • This includes but not limited to time keeping management, material quotations, material and subcontractor invoicing reviews, budget updates, client billing, etc. in a manner that results in completion of a project on time, on budget, and a quality that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.
  • As required, interact with key members of the project team and client organization to set up, prepare, and maintain weekly/monthly project and program reports including cost forecasting, cash flow forecasting, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor and upper management.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting, Business Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or a related field; or an equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 3 years of work experience in industrial construction
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem-solve, and exercise good judgment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and creativity
  • Working knowledge of MS Office software
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required
  • Able to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • Regular and reliable attendance at work
