The Role

We are excitedly looking for a strategic leader to drive the execution of Gala's financial strategy. We seek a business-savvy, hands-on CFO with solid finance and strategy skills and hands-on experience in corporate and professional services with a start-up mentality. We would love someone with an impressive track record for leading in a fast-paced, evolving, creative-minded environment. This Finance Executive role will be a leader within the crypto entity, external relationships, and forecasting/planning. This executive leader will successfully be responsible for corporate development, M&A, corporate financing, strategic planning, revenue planning, FP&A, P&L responsibility, budgeting, and ERP System and IT oversight. A successful candidate should have well-established experience and sophistication in dealing with investor communications and private equity.

We are looking for an intellectually curious and hardworking individual to help the organization and our Crypto entity prepare for continued rapid growth. This role is responsible for being the finance leader within the crypto entity, managing banking relationships, and forecasting/planning. This role presents the opportunity to work with multiple teams across Gala, such as product, engineering, operations, treasury, finance, compliance, and legal. This role will be located in our upcoming Plano, Texas office joining our COO and other executives. If you are looking for a seat at the table, this could be for you.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Leadership team on financial operational, product, and strategic decisions as the Finance leader for the entity
  • Manage financial reporting, accounting, budget, credit, insurance, tax reporting, treasury/cash management functions quarterly/annual planning and assessment of critical metrics and risks
  • Partner with Leadership and Product teams in support of new crypto products and initiatives.
  • Partner with blockchain operations on monitoring, forecasting/planning, SOPs, and crypto liquidity.
  • Execute corporate and capital market transactions, including lines of credit and other partnerships.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • 15+ years experience in Treasury, Banking, Corporate Finance, or a related financial services field, with demonstrated leadership experience in the crypto space
  • Strong crypto experience and enthusiast for the space and product
  • An excellent foundation of active liquidity management in crypto financial services
  • Prior banking relationship management experience with a solid working knowledge of crypto banking products and services
  • Ability and comfort working independently across cross-functional internal teams and external relationships, and the ability to project manage large-scale projects
  • Ability to get things done and be comfortable with ambiguity
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
  • Experience working and leading in a fully remote organization
  • Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator

  • Fearless
