Responsibilities

  • Preparation of month-end closing journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
  • Financial Statements (IS, BS, CF, and RE) preparation and reporting for portfolio of real estate properties
  • Financial statement analysis
  • Variance/Flux analysis
  • Consistent and professional and timely reporting to management and investors
  • Participation and preparation of annual budgeting process
  • Involved in cash management activities from projections and forecasting of FS results and calculating sources and uses of cash
  • Involved in treasury management activities function of money transfers and maintenance of bank system regarding stop payments, research, etc.
  • Bank reconciliations of all responsible properties bank accounts
  • Preparation of schedules and analyses for during and end of year financial statements for tax consultants and external auditors
  • Close interaction with property management accounting and operations teams including management
  • Possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize ad hoc projects, and manage time efficiently and effectively
  • Possess high attention to detail and accuracy as well along with possessing strong analytical skills
  • Have strong understanding of property management accounting systems (i.e. Yardi, Oscar, Sage, etc) and ensure financial integrity and reporting is maintained
  • Ability to develop goals, multi task, establish priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment


Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting
  • 4-8 years of relevant industry or public accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and tax basis of accounting
  • Enthusiastic attitude, flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of special projects and new responsibilities


Technical Functions

  • Yardi Voyager
  • Sage
  • Concur
  • Treasury websites (i.e. First Trust, JP Morgan, Webster, PNC, and Other )
  • Merchant Services and intermediary websites (i.e. American Express, Profit stars and other, etc.)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel to handle necessary spreadsheet work


Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess excellent computational and analytical abilities and keen attention to detail.
  • Must possess computer skills and detailed knowledge of various computer programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Must have a desire to participate as part of a team with opportunities to learn, grow, and develop.

  • Salary commensurate with experience
