Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The role of the Project Manager is to lead the project management delivery for the US market.
The Project Manager will lead and demonstrate the values and culture of “The Unipart Way” by adopting lean management principles and approach.
Responsibilities
- Planning and design of projects to deliver successful business solution concepts and improvements, including the development of detailed project plans to track progress
- Effective planning and control to ensure delivery on time budget and to customer satisfaction (time, cost, quality, etc.)
- Manage the Unipart Program Delivery System tools and techniques
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
- Follow processes for robust change control and risk management identifying opportunities and areas for conflict
- Ensure all implementations are reported and available for governance
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Manage project to implementation and operational stage
- Lead Steering Committee meetings with customers during the implementation phase to identify any risks and mitigations to the project
- Ensure that lessons learned from previous project(s) are incorporated in all activities
- Monitor and measure appropriately to ensure key deliverables are met
- Administer all aspects of the project; reporting and communication of project progress including project spend
- Responsible to schedule and run implementation post-mortem meetings for Senior Leadership, capturing all “lessons learned’
- Responsible effective two way communication processes with team and managers
- Work effectively with managers and staff to maximize the use of resources within the team
- Ensure that resource skills and level are consistent with medium and long term business plans
- Cross functional liaison, management and communication in the design and delivery of all aspects of the project
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Liaise, in conjunction with Business Development, with Customers and Senior Management
Other
- Maintain a professional and business like appearance at all times, ensuring promptness at meetings
- Maintain confidentiality
- Identify areas for personal development to improve performance in role and actively seek ways to improve
- Other duties as may be assigned
- Ability to travel to support other sites as required by the business (70% travel)
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of Project Management experience including in a warehouse, distribution or manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge and understanding of logistics and manufacturing solutions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to build credibility with key internal and external stakeholders to impact and influence
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Advanced knowledge of Data Analytical tools
- Self-starter with the ability to work both autonomously and within teams
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Excellent planning, organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong problem solving and decision making skills with a focus on continuous improvement
- Excellent decision making skills
- Ability and willingness to be flexible with working hours to meet operating needs of the business
Physical Requirements:
