COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER K-12

CPL’s K-12 Communications Manager ensures effective internal and external communication flows in alignment with the K-12 Practice's goals to create a positive public image and maintain productive relationships with all internal and external stakeholders. This role assists the K-12 National Practice Lead in the continuing expansion of the practice.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Associate’s degree in a related field with a minimum of seven (7) years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Expertise in public relations, crisis communications, and business management via statistics.
  • Proficiency in the Management System fundamentals, particularly concerning the importance of communication lines and public relations.
  • Knowledge of company policies and the products or services being offered.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, utilizing strong time management and organizational skills, while consistently maintaining a positive attitude.

CORE DUTIES

K12 Public Relations:

  • Represent the K12 Practice in specific external communications.
  • Handle all media relations, ensuring press releases, articles, and interviews align with the company’s goals and ethics, in collaboration with the marketing department.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and relevant industry figures as outlined in the K12 Strategic Plan
  • K12 Internal Communication:
  • Manage the communication lines between departments and the K12 Practice to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Ensure all internal announcements from the NPL, (policy, notices, announcements etc.) are distributed and understood by all K12 Practice staff.
  • Coordinate the NPL's schedule and meetings with key K12 Staff and other CPL executives and department heads.
  • Assist the NPL in coordinating and preparing monthly K12 Team meetings with appropriate staff.

K12 Marketing & Promotions:

  • Coordinate the creation of promotional content with the marketing department. Assist in the distribution of the promotional content that reflects the K12 Practice vision and values.
  • Coordinate and manage requests from the K12 Team for project photography with the marketing department.
  • Coordinate and manage tradeshow event materials, and registrations.
  • Evaluate feedback and engagement from public-facing campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly.

Crisis Management:

  • Act as the first point of contact in case of any communications-related crisis in the absence of the NPL. Route communications to the proper channels.
  • Ensure any crisis is handled effectively, with clear communication to the K12 Team, Company executives and stakeholders.

Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with K12 Leadership and support departments to align communication strategies with the K12 Practice objectives.
  • Ensure that the K12 team is equipped with the proper communication tools and messaging for their initiatives.
  • Work directly with support departments (HR, Finance and Marketing) to ensure they have a clear understanding of what is needed and wanted by the K12 practice.

Metrics & Reporting:

  • Track the effectiveness of communications strategies and produce regular reports on key performance indicators.
  • Regularly review public/client perception and adjust communication strategies as needed to maintain or improve brand image.
  • Work with the Finance, HR and Marketing Departments to gather monthly KPI's, place in a graph format and establish the conditions of specific KPI's to bring awareness to staff. Assist the NPL with enlightenment of the K12 staff of the condition of their practice / area to create positive change of conditions.

Statistical Measurement:

  • Staff Efficiency: Monthly reporting to staff of conditions and assistant in understanding the condition towards positive gain.
  • Public Communication Efficiency: Measured by audience engagement metrics, reach, and sentiment analysis.
  • Internal Communication Satisfaction: Feedback from staff on the clarity and effectiveness of internal communication systems.
