The significance of the work:
It plays an essential role in assisting the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) in providing Process Improvement efforts that are synchronized, integrated and prioritized.
Location: The position requires the candidate to be in-office 100% of the time for a collaborative office culture in Arlington, VA.
What You’ll Do:
We are looking for a highly motivated and analytical Business Analyst/Process Improvement Specialist to join our team within the government sector. An ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate a solid understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and how they can be applied to process improvement initiatives. In your role as a Business Analyst, you will be working closely with project managers to identify inefficiencies, analyze data, and suggest improvements to operational performance and service delivery so that they can be enhanced.
Responsibilities Include, but not limited to:
- Plan and conduct studies to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, rework, etc. resulting in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key responsibilities and objectives.
- Facilitate meetings and/or projects, determine audience and tactics appropriate for a particular discussion. Adapt facilitation style in order to engage a variety of group settings.
- Evaluate process improvement information, including policy and procedures to identify inefficiencies and coordinate to determine a future state that satisfies the business requirements.
- Use appropriate measurement, analysis and evaluation methods to accurately identify and document process improvements
- Analyzing current processes: In order to identify opportunities for improvement
- Conducts interviews, observes workers, and collects data.
- Perform cost assessments to determine whether or not a proposed improvement will be financially beneficial.
- Designing and implementing new processes, to include developing process maps and as necessary, writing procedure manuals.
- Conduct Process Analysis: Evaluate current organizational processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data, performance metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to quantify process inefficiencies and track improvements over time.
- Solution Development: Collaborate with teams to develop and propose practical solutions, including process redesign, automation, or technology enhancements.
- Change Management: Facilitate change management efforts by communicating proposed improvements, obtaining buy-in from stakeholders, and ensuring successful implementation.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct continuous improvement projects, employing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Total Quality Management (TQM) or similar methodologies to drive ongoing process enhancements.
- Training and Documentation: Develop training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and documentation to ensure that optimized processes are effectively adopted and maintained by teams.
- In-Office Position: Candidates must live in or relocate to the Arlington, VA metropolitan area and be willing to work in the client's office 100% of the time.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proven experience in process improvement, business process reengineering, or related roles.
- Proficiency in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or TQM.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to work collaboratively across departments.
- Change management expertise with the ability to lead and influence others.
- Familiarity with process automation and technology solutions.
- Prepares and delivers briefings to on study findings and recommendations.
- Experience with change management and facilitation.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
Security Clearance Requirements:
- This position requires you to have an active Secret Clearance. A government background investigation will be conducted on selected applicants to determine whether they qualify for access to classified information.
Compensation:
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration: contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of ODRG's total compensation package for employees. It is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee. The salary range is $80 - 105k.
