Appropriately and accurately create, verify, and process requests for charts to be created and retrieved for patient care, quality review, and audits in a timely manner. Accurately scan and Index medical records to the appropriate chart. Release information to patients, healthcare facilities, and other entities by following all laws and regulations, including HIPAA.
Essential Functions
Fax and retrieve ROI request forms for all clients.
Appropriately and accurately create and pull records for patient care, quality reviews, and audits in a timely manner.
Observe confidentiality and safeguard all patient-related information.
Responsible for coordinating the release of medical information to insurance companies, lawyers, and state and federal agencies.
Responsible for processing subpoenas and court orders at the direction of the Clinical Director.
Verify authorizations in accordance with agency policy and procedures and state and federal laws.
Ensure that all requests for records are stamped with date received and logged in the correspondence log book.
Notify the requester when records are available.
Able to retrieve files from doctor’s deficiency area as well as perm filing.
Maintain a good working relationship within the department and other departments.
Adhere to agency requirements, policies, and standards. Provide excellent customer service.
Filing of all records.
Answering office phone, scheduling appointments, and dispatching messages to various departments.
