  • Act as liaison between Project Management, Operational Management, Functional Leadership, Legal Department and external parties on project reporting, contract and commercial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with established Delegation of Authority (DOA) and Proposal and Contract Development Policy requirements.
  • Coordinate and participate in internal and external reporting and project reviews with Project, Functional and Client Management.
  • Oversee the coordination of and actively participate in the monthly project forecasting process and the quarterly project review and presentation process.
  • Assist projects with all internal and external presentation development and coordination of reviews.
  • Manage and administer customer contracts, including providing practical advice on contractual and commercial issues as they arise, ensuring proper and timely delivery of required notices.
  • Review, negotiate, modify and communicate agreements, ensuring appropriate terms and conditions, risk factors and insurance requirements are aligned with Company policies and standards.
  • Develop and implement project-specific subcontracts and vendor agreements, ensuring proper flow-down requirements of prime contracts are incorporated. Review, negotiate and approve deviations from standard Company subcontract and vendor agreements.
  • Work closely with project and functional personnel to identify, mitigate, and manage commercial risks of project execution and ensure subcontractors and vendors comply with contractual requirements and management of dispute resolution where necessary.
  • Support the development, reviews, correspondence, and negotiation of contract change orders and lead the coordination of dispute resolution, when necessary.
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of reporting to Executive Management and Risk Management Committee.
  • Facilitate effective communication and coordination between all parties by consolidating, reviewing, and preparing timely correspondence to customers, subcontractors, vendors and project stakeholders.
  • Provide project-specific staff training, including project orientation, contract turnover, refresher, and project and vendor/subcontract closeout.
  • Assist in close out of various contracts, including warranty issues.
  • Perform additional responsibilities, as needed or requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction, Engineering, or other related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education/experience in lieu of degree.
  • 10+ years of relevant project management/project controls experience for capital construction projects, including a minimum 5 years of direct commercial/legal experience with the negotiation of terms and conditions and commercial management on large scale EPC projects.
  • Team player, communicative, and a self-starter.
  • Ability and willingness to engage effectively as an integrated member of project management teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and weigh facts and information from many sources, draw conclusions and provide recommendations to management.
  • Ability to assess legal and business risk in varying situations and make associated recommendations to minimize overall risk to the project and company.
  • Strong written and oral communication interpersonal relationship skills as required to interface with customers and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work on/manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work with frequent interruptions and meet established deadlines.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and the Internet.
  • Regular travel (approximately 50%) is required in this position. Sustained presence at project sites may be required.
