SUMMARY: The Senior Data Analyst – Finance will support the Finance/Accounting team in the continued development of a robust control environment and deliver accurate, timely and high-quality financial information. The candidate will be responsible for in-depth knowledge of the company’s financial system; extracting and analyzing data from the system in support of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and period end close activities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Work to ensure the accuracy of financial data used for financial reporting
  • Own reporting of key financial data used for operational decision-making
  • Provide general financial data support to other key stakeholders within the finance team
  • Strengthen and help implement an analytics environment, and ensure financial dashboards are updated in a timely, accurate, and appropriate manner
  • Provide exceptional level of support during month-end close, forecast, and plan cycles, and ad-hoc reporting
  • Translate data into actionable recommendations, actively solving ambiguous, unstructured problems.
  • Work within a cross-functional, team-driven structure to present and explain deliverables to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Develop and enhance data collection processes, document data definitions and catalog metadata requirements for enterprise BI, Tableau and analytical applications.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for sales and operational performance to support business initiatives, creating clear and compelling visualizations of data insights.
  • Apply advanced quantitative methods, data mining, modeling, and analytical tools to solve complex business problems.
  • Provide training, resolve questions, assess user needs, and recommend changes to data systems.
  • Resolve and analyze the full impact of system issues
  • Create and maintain procedural documentation and assist in ensuring the integrity of data through the company’s financial systems (i.e. Lawson M3)
  • Participate in software upgrades, design, implementation, functional testing, and data validation to ensure quality solutions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems
  • 3+ years of experience within Finance and/or Financial Systems
  • Strong knowledge of accounting concepts, financial planning, and reporting
  • Proficiency in SQL with 2+ years of experience working with large data sets
  • 2+ years of experience with analytic and reporting toolsets (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Quick learner and self-starter with strong problem-solving and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
