Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

The Technician Apprentice will assist in the remanufacturing of diesel engine fuel injection components in order to provide high quality parts and timely service that will exceed our customers’ expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The Technician must become deeply knowledgeable of a variety of diesel engine fuel injection pumps and fuel injector components.
  • Must become efficient with the following aspects: clean, disassemble, assemble, calibrate, and test fuel injection pumps and fuel injectors.
  • Must become efficient with the ability to diagnose pump issues.
  • Must be able to appropriately use mechanical tools and small power tools as needed.
  • Must use chemical and mechanical methods to clean incoming fuel injection components. Examples: Parts washer and stationary buffing wheels.
  • Must be able to use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers and indicators.
  • Must be able to use computer systems, software, and other electronics to control test processes and record data.
  • Must be able to accurately key in computer data.
  • Participates and completes training opportunities as they arise.
  • Attends all department and company-wide meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements:

  • A willingness to learn and grow skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Follow all safety policies.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background and drug screening.
  • Fosters good coworker citizenship and contributes to a positive work environment.

Physical Demands & The Work Environment:

  • Shop environment that can include exposure to loud noises, dirt, and dust.
  • Ability to squat, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, and bend over.
  • Ability to lift objects to shoulder level.
  • Ability to lift objects above shoulder level.
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry objects to 50 lbs.
