Assembly Technician

As an Assembly Technician, you will play a vital role in the production of advanced transit buses under the Xcelsior® and Xcelsior CHARGE® brands. As an Assembly Technician at New Flyer, you will be responsible for assembling and installing various components of transit buses, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will contribute to the overall success of the production process. Responsibilities
- Perform assembly and installation of components according to specifications and work orders
- Inspect parts and components for quality and accuracy
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
- Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues and challenges
- Support continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and efficiency
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Technical or vocational training in a relevant field preferred
- Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of technical drawings and instructions
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

Hourly Pay Rate starts at $19.59/hr
