Instructional Design Assistant - REMOTE Part-Time W-2 or Contract - $35-40/hour

DAY ONE GROUP (add link to website), a premium boutique soft-skills consulting/training firm, with a robust corporate client list, is seeking a part-time instructional design assistant

The Instructional Design Assistant will serve in a part-time (20/hour a week) role as a member of the Client Service Team for client projects, working directly for the Senior Instructional Designer. Note: This could be a W-2 or contract position for 20 hours a week.

The Instructional Design Assistant will work directly for the Senior Instructional Designer, and be provide opportunities to design and develop adult learning training materials, including participant materials and Power Point Presentations. This will involve both customization of modules/courses based on client requests or needs.

Candidate Competencies Required

  • Ability to understand and grasp new information quickly and to ask appropriatequestions for greater clarity
  • Understanding of adult learning concepts and design principles, especially in soft-skills competencies for managers/leader
  • Ability to learn the firm’s “model” for training and facilitation and followthat model in customization of modules/courses
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Instructional Designer and other team members
  • Strong customer focus, combined with effective relational and communication process skills with clients
  • Strong project management skills including proven ability to juggle multiple projects
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Technology Requirements

  • Some creative instructional design and development competencies
  • Computer Knowledge: Expert in MS Office suite, particularly Powerpoint and Word, Sharepoint, Teams, Excel
  • Graphic design and technology experience: Finished products must be visually appealing.
  • Audio and Video Editing Skills Desirable

Education and Experience

  • Preferably a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Adult Education, Instructional Design, Instructional Technologies or related field, or equivalent work-related experience
  • Some experience in corporate level training and development and /or talent development desired
  • Understanding of soft skills training curriculum, preferable experiential and role-play based
