Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are looking for an energetic and dependable individual to join our team at Oconto County Department of Health and Human Services, in Oconto, WI.  Oconto County is hiring a full time (37.5 hours/week) Clinical Therapist.  The starting pay for the position is $34.55/hour.  The selected candidate will be responsible for providing mental health and/or substance abuse services in the outpatient clinic.  Must understand, support and work within the values, mission and vision of the agency. This is a contracted position through Community Resource Specialist Staffing Agency (CRSSA).   Benefits: (Permanent Full-time)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide outpatient psychotherapy and/or substance abuse services to individuals, couples, families and groups.
  • Maintain client case records including but not limited to, assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, staffing notes and discharge summaries. Maintain appropriate documentation on the agency’s required electronic systems.
  • Make referrals to other resources, as appropriate.
    Provide advocacy for clients.
  • Perform crisis services as appropriate or assigned, including daytime and after hours on-call
  • May perform OWI assessments and follow along.
  • May perform services for Court, including providing testimony, depositions, and other duties.
  • Provide collaboration with, and consultation to, schools, law enforcement, hospitals, clinics, co-workers, and other community resources.
  • Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of programs.
  • Develop resources and programming to meet individual and family needs.
  • Participate in and/or facilitate agency and community meetings, committees, and program evaluation activities.
  • Attend and participate in staffings, agency and other required meetings, and record reviews.
  • Assist in the writing of grants and funding proposals to support existing services and to develop new programs and community resources.
  • May be required to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Prepare for and respond to community emergencies including, but not limited to, natural and man-made disasters.
  • Participate in employee education and training and department activities as directed.
  • Participate in a program of staff development to enhance professional skills and knowledge through training and ongoing performance evaluations.
  • Must abide by Federal and State laws and guidelines and by County and Department policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and direction to management regarding programs.
  • Provide services at offsite locations when needed.
  • Mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university, and experience in mental health and/or substance abuse clinical outpatient counseling. This position requires the need to be insurance and M.A. reimbursable, or to become insurance and M.A. reimbursable within a reasonable amount of time for the benefit of the clinic.
  • Knowledge of office and department terminology, policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Must be willing to become certified, and provide, OWI and substance abuse assessments.
  •  Must have a working knowledge of psychiatry and psycho-therapeutic techniques.
  • Able to work with limited daily supervision and make accurate, rapid, independent decisions regarding planning, scheduling, and completing work priorities and scheduling duties. Excellent organizational skills, high level of maturity, able to influence the actions of clients, and strong degree of self-direction and motivation is required.
  • Knowledge of and ability to follow, all agency, county, state, and federal policies, rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to assess and treat child and adolescent behavioral problems and physical and sexual abuse.
  • Possess strong listening and communication skills for dealing with clients, family members, department staff, and other agencies and community resources.
  • Proficient computer utilization skills
