As a Road Technician with Thompson & Johnson, you will diagnose and repair equipment and have the opportunity to be a hero to our customers. Successful Road Technicians become trusted advisors to our customers helping us “Deliver our Promise.”
Our technicians are eligible for a generous benefits package to include:
Up to 8k sign on bonus
$500 tool reimbursement

Pay Range: $26 to $36/hour depending on relevant experience
Qualification Standards Include:
- Minimum 5 years technical training or experience in mechanical repair is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is desirable
- Valid clean driver’s license (Road Technician)
- Able to work beyond scheduled work hours M-F 8am-4:30pm and available on-call if needed.
- Able to work independently.
- Safely operate hand and power tools, lifts, hoists, hydraulic jacks and material handling equipment.
- Must have the ability to perform strenuous and heavy work; exert force up to 100 pounds on occasion and frequently handle loads to 50 pounds. Must have the physical stamina to perform continuously with full body motion for climbing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, etc.
Some Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose problems; operate computer-based diagnostics on material handling equipment
- Project a positive image and Deliver Our Promise
- Ensure proper planned maintenance is performed
- Maintain adequate and accurate parts inventory on van
- Strive to perform service jobs on time the first time
- Utilize parts and service resources to properly repair equipment
- Operate material handling equipment
- Own hand tools and maintain company tools
- Complete work orders punctually and with accuracy
- Attend training and other professional development opportunities to grow skills and knowledge

Profile Assessment, Physical (including eye and hearing) and illegal drug substance testing
