THE ROLE

The Program Data Specialist will be responsible for the preparation and maintenance of program dashboards and reports.  Reporting to the Managing Director of Program Operations, the Program Data Specialist will utilize existing StoryCorps databases and work closely with staff across different teams to collect, maintain and synthesize program data.  This role is responsible for providing program data to StoryCorps staff as well as the Development team and the Executive office to support their preparation of key external reports. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Prepare and maintain data reports and dashboards using StoryCorps interview, participant, and listener data.  This includes Interview Collection, Learning & Engagement, Recording and Archive, Production and other initiatives as appropriate.
  • Along with other key organizational stakeholders, support and train program staff on their data entry and maintenance to insure consistent information.
  • Serve as program data liaison to staff in key functions across different departments, including Development, Digital, Custom Services, and Marketing & Communications and various Programs staff.
  • Coordinate effective dissemination of program data and other related information needed for internal and external audiences, with a view to contributing to wider learning.
  • Provide administrative support for contracting and processing invoices for research/evaluation consultants.
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties to support the Program Data Specialist function as assigned.
ABOUT YOU

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Google Spreadsheets, or other spreadsheet programs
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, Looker, Google Analytics, or other similar programs
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Solid project management skills, multi-tasking ability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in order to contribute to problem-solving activities within a growing, changing organization
  • Cultural competence and the ability to work successfully with diverse groups of people
Preferred:
  • Study in a social science field, Library and Information Science, or another research-related field
  • Survey design knowledge/experience
  • Proficiency on a Mac platform
  • Experience in advanced reporting
  • Knowledge of or experience with nonprofit program evaluation theory or practice

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

This position is office optional.  However, you will be expected to come into the office as required for training and staff meetings as discussed in advance with your supervisor.
