Climbing Wall Instructor

Maggie Daley Park Climbing Wall

Reports to: Head Instructor & Climbing Wall Supervisor

Summary

A Maggie Daley Park Climbing Wall Instructor will be expected to perform all the responsibilities of a regular wall attendant. Their extra responsibilities will include belaying climbers and teaching Top Rope Certification classes. Pay: Commensurate with experience. Dates: May 24th, – September 2024.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Belay individual climbers as needed.
  • Facilitate climbing orientations and certifications.
  • Be aware of all equipment and conduct inspections when needed.
  • Teach the basics of climbing and belaying during events and classes.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service.
  • Able to work 20 hours a week with flexibility.
  • Must have previous experience with climbing.
  • Have weekend availability when needed to work.
  • Have exceptional awareness and attention to detail.
  • Be comfortable working with families and small children.
  • Must obtain Lakeshore Sport & Fitness belay certification.
  • Able to troubleshoot situations while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift and carry up to 35lbs.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Spend up to 6 hours outside in direct sunlight.
