Title: Safety Admin

Location: Auburn Hills, MI

Job Summary:

The Safety Admin provides technical and administrative aid to the Safety Director, Regional Safety Managers, and branch level teams. The Safety Admin supports various processes within the Safety Department including incident investigation and management, safety pre-qualifications, drug & alcohol testing, and more. Throughout all, the Safety Admin will serve as a working team member and individual contributor to the overall team’s success.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive safety as a top priority throughout the organization by consistently communicating with branches, Regional Safety, Ins. & Risk, and the Safety Director
  • Act as the first point of contact for the branch-level teams seeking support or information related to safety or company safety initiatives
  • Manage the company’s 3rd party prequalification sites including any new site enrollments (ISN, Avetta, PICS, etc.) ensuring acceptable grading for all connections; assist with the completion of pre- qualification safety information requests for all branch locations or departments
  • Administer the company’s drug testing programs including preparing and submitting employee rosters for random testing selections, sending random testing notices and ensuring tests are completed timely, and completing all reporting to 3rd parties or regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate safety training requests, communicate regarding upcoming or outstanding training needs, and complete database management for training certifications
  • Train branches on how to request COI’s, act as the primary point of contact for any COI request issues, and partner with the Insurance and Risk Manager for any complex questions or issues
  • Manage the company’s toolbox talk program by ensuring that toolbox talk topics are sent to all necessary teams per the required schedule, and that completion is tracked and reported
  • Provide administrative aid to the Regional Safety Managers, Insurance and Risk Manager, and Safety Director for incident response and management, incident investigations, general reporting, and any other areas needed
  • Calculate, report and maintain proper safety statistics both internally and externally
  • Assist with the development and management of safety initiatives and programs
  • Participate in job-site safety inspections conducted by the Safety Director

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or a related field
  • Working knowledge of basic safety principles preferred
  • Work experience in the construction industry preferred
  • Planning and organizational skills in handling multiple projects
  • Proficient in MS Office and other required PC software applications
