ADevelopment Associateis responsible for supporting the Development Department by performing gift and data entry, drafting and sending donor tax acknowledgments, donor communication and outreach, assisting with grant-related tasks, providing event support, and assisting with development plans, grant calendars, and fundraising campaigns. This position reports to the Director of Development, works closely with the Senior Grant Writer, and collaborates and communicates with other departments including Marketing.


Job Duties :

  • Gift Entry: help monitor and maintain timely and accurate records in Salsa CRM database; enter gifts and data; prepare, send, and record tax acknowledgments; enter data for campaigns and mailings; perform list pulls, data updates, and process reports.
  • Communications: Help maintain communication and outreach with donors, board members, community partners, and volunteers; contribute to and assist with marketing on annual fund and event campaigns.
  • Reporting: Help gather proper documentation and assist grant writer with data requests; assist with prospect and grant research; help monitor department budget tracking; prepare proposals and reports on gift tracking, events, and individual and corporate giving.
  • Assist with internal and external events including fundraisers or marketing-related events.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Communications, creative writing, or a related area)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ nonprofit or development experience
  • Experience working with committees, boards, and/or volunteers
  • Solid communication and writing skills in English are essential
  • Organizational and time management skills – able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to help develop partnerships, foster teamwork, and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to handle confidential matters with integrity
  • Experience with CRM database and email marketing platform a plus


Job Details:

  • Schedule: Tuesday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PMOR Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Starting at $24/Hr.(based on experience) + benefits.
  • Full benefits – healthcare, dental, vision, 401k program.
  • Temporary Placement-2 month assignment
