In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support across various aspects of the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for creating a positive employee experience. This role will be onsite in our Morgantown, WV office location. 

What You Will Be Doing:
  • Oversee and manage the administration of employee benefits, leave of absence, and accommodation programs, along with managing worker’s compensation and unemployment claims, and handling employment verifications.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve any benefits-related issues.
  • Manage and process employee payroll ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, accurate record-keeping, and resolving payroll discrepancies. 
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance.
  • Support the recruitment process end to end, from creating job postings and reviewing applications to scheduling interviews, conducting background and reference checks, and extending offers.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Participate in HR projects and initiatives, such as performance management, employee engagement, and training and development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Your Background:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM or HRCI certification desirable but not required.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a hands-on HR role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience with payroll administration preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees, contractors, vendors, and key stakeholders.
  • Must be able to perform light work – exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.    
  • See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.  
  • Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
