Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

This is a full-time day shift position which provides clinical testing services to medical providers. Clinical tests include analytical, quantitative analysis of urine for prescription medications and drugs of abuse utilizing LCMS.


· Independently performs consistently moderate and somewhat complex clinical quantitative analytical tests. Exhibits skills and proficiency in applying technical principles and techniques of analytical chemistry.

· Prepares urine samples for quantitative LCMS analysis. Prepares calibration standards, quality controls, buffers and solvent mixtures, and processes liquid-liquid or solid-phase extractions.

· Prepares, maintains and runs LCMS instruments followed by data analysis and reports generation.

· Performs analytical assays and processes data analysis in accordance to the laboratory ‘s SOPs. Works with the Lab Supervisor / Lab Director to ensure proper documentation and validation for clinical implications. Works with Lab Supervisor/Lab Director to devise a protocol for methodology and equipment procedures, maintenance, and problem solving.

· Determines, evaluates and reports on the test results. Understands what the resulting requirements are for assigned testing and ensures that all patient results and assay controls are optimal.

· Recognizes problems, and initiates troubleshooting steps to evaluate testing failures and other problems, if necessary. Notifies the supervisor, and contacts manufacturer for additional assistance or field service support, if required.

· Uses LIS to perform editing, data entry, quality control and quality assurance.

· Comply with all laboratory safety procedures, OSHA and HIPAA privacy rules.

· Maintain a clean and sterile working environment.

· Adhere to and uphold all applicable federal and state compliance regulations as well as NSPC’s Code of Conduct and Associate Handbook, compliance policies and procedures, and applicable healthcare fraud, waste and abuse laws

· Other duties may be assigned

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in laboratory science and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Or Master’s degree in laboratory science and at least 1 year of relevant experience

· Previous work experience in a toxicology laboratory - pain management /drugs of abuse testing, method development and validation in high-complexity setup is preferred.

· Knowledge of LCMS or GCMS operation, maintenance and basic troubleshooting is required

· Hands-on experience with a variety of laboratory techniques including liquid-liquid and/or solid phase extraction of biological matrices.

· Attention to the details in setting, conducting, and documenting experiments; records keeping in compliance with laboratory policy.

· Excellent critical thinking, verbal and written communications skills, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software.

· The ability to teach and train other qualified individuals.
