ROLE OVERVIEW

The Staff Accountant performs balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, month end close processes, produces various reports and performs various accounting duties within a cloud-based organization. Vytelle is hiring for two staff accountant roles.  One will be focused on Accounts Payable processes while the second will be focused on Invoicing and Accounts Receivable.  We will work to align candidates with their experience and interest areas.  While focused on certain processes, both positions will be expected to become cross trained in all areas of the accounting team.  Both positions will support staff focused in their particular areas of responsibility.  The roles will be officed in our Lenexa, Kansas, office with an expectation of at least 80% of time spent in the office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Performs timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations for several companies.
  • Prepares and submits, as appropriate, various monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and returns.
  • Generates and posts standard journal entries (with proper documentation and approval).
  • Assists analysis on expenditures (actual v forecast v budget).
  • Works closely with team members to ensure timely and accurate month-end close.
  • Actively engages in the continuous improvement of the company business processes.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 2+ years of accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP
  • Working knowledge of tax laws preferred
  • Strong financial analysis skills
  • Ability to communicate with team members via phone calls, video calls and chat messaging systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Working knowledge of Dynamics 365 Business Central preferred
  • System automation experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
