Lead Trainer

Job Summary: A lead trainer will increase productivity of employees by ensuring that all employees demonstrate the knowledge and skills required for their position at Puritan.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Helps with training and support of new hires, for employees in new roles and/or with a new assignment.
• Assesses participants learning performance; identifies need for additional, specialized, or adaptive instruction.
• Engage in coaching and mentoring during the production process to ensure that standard procedures are followed and to improve employee performance.
• Ensure ISO 13485 (Manufacture of Medical Devices) standard operating procedures are followed.
• Maintains records of completed trainings.
• Observe, maintain, coordinate and complete standard work processes verifying that SOPs are being followed on production floor.
• Reports problems or concerns with quality, processes, equipment, materials and labor to Production Supervisor.
• Follow documented policies and procedures as designated by the Puritan’s Quality System.
• Complete required documentation relating to business or regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to facilitate machine manufacturing functions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 + years of experience in training preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of ISO 13485 requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
• Basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
• Understanding of continuous improvement methodology.
• Ability to identify training needs of production staff through observations and experience

Physical Requirements:

• Occasionally lift 50 lbs. and regularly lift to 30lbs, handle tasks involving frequent bending, twisting, lifting, squatting, walking, and standing.
• Must be able and willing to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble very small objects.
