Essential Qualifications

Core Responsibilities

As an Advanced Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineer, you will collaborate with a dedicated cross-functional team to tackle daily production challenges and consistently meet commitments.
Your expertise will be vital in developing, implementing, and maintaining methodologies, operational sequences, and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.

The role involves creating manufacturing engineering tools, strategies, and systems, along with floor layouts and plans for both new and existing products and processes. This will include procedural documentation for the implementation and maintenance of methods, operational sequences, and equipment calibration requirements. What You Bring:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related specialized area, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience
  • Strong ability to identify and communicate information pertinent to effective manufacturing engineering design
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing and engineering systems and applications
  • Proficient understanding of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • In-depth knowledge of Engineering and/or Manufacturing best practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and engineering-related software, including 3D CAD Design Software
  • Experience with manufacturing efficiency strategies such as Lean, Six Sigma, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of implementing solutions to address root causes
  • Decision-making capabilities and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

Job Overview:

Collaborate with fellow Manufacturing Engineering professionals to enhance manufacturing process performance, facilitate the transition of new products into production, and support product diagnosis and repair. Maximize efficiency by analyzing equipment layouts, workflows, assembly methods, and workforce utilization. Develop both short-term and long-term operational strategies in partnership with team members to achieve measurable outcomes in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Engage in the development and analysis of processes, tooling, and effective manufacturing concepts for basic to complex electromechanical devices.
  • Identify and enhance manufacturing and operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction
  • Ensure operational processes meet GDMS, regulatory, and industry standards
  • Provide technical support on the production floor, collaborating closely with Cell Leads, Supervisors, and fellow Engineers
  • Lead MRB team meetings alongside Quality personnel for analysis and corrective action definitions
  • Oversee the selection, installation, and validation of process and packaging equipment using project management tools and Lean Manufacturing techniques
  • Develop and refine existing manufacturing processes, including in-process testing and final inspection requirements
  • Provide technical guidance to troubleshoot and resolve issues with production processes
  • Ensure consistent operation and adequacy of test equipment and methods
  • Document process deviations and rework instructions as necessary
  • Maintain key process documentation such as Work Instructions and Routings
  • Establish calibration plans for equipment and testing devices
  • Support validation tasks associated with project and engineering teams
  • Engage early in managing Production Readiness activities to ensure all documentation and processes are in place for controlled production
  • Analyze and plan workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Coordinate the creation of label templates using relevant software
  • Foster collaboration with production personnel throughout process development for effective knowledge transfer
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineers and Trainers in creating and executing Standard Work Instructions and training
  • Evaluate new designs for manufacturability and collaborate to enhance product design
  • Provide technical guidance for detailed machine specification documents
  • Support procurement and installation of equipment for replacements
  • Collaborate with internal and external fabrication resources to ensure successful tooling builds
  • Work with fellow Manufacturing Engineers on component builds and related activities
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools to enhance operational efficiency and quality
  • Review proposed component tolerances and provide input on manufacturing capabilities
  • Participate in the development and approval of packaging concepts for manufactured devices
  • Promote clear communication of processes and support training of assembly and inspection personnel
  • Ensure visibility and accountability of transfer activities among team members and stakeholders
  • Provide critical input and analysis on engineering documentation and participate in design reviews
  • Maintain expertise in GDMS products, their design details, and associated risks
  • Serve as a subject matter expert during audits
  • Address vendor issues as necessary
