Position Summary:

Responsible for managing all aspects of assigned projects from point of sale to customer acceptance with maximum corporate profit and to perform these activities with the available resources within the constraints of time, cost, and performance/technology. Is singularly responsible for all parameters of project performance, schedule, budget, and specifications.

Essential Duties:

  • Manage numerous projects.
  • Primary customer contact for project contractual and specifications issues.
  • Accountable for project costs and overall project gross margin.
  • Track project status and progress and report weekly.
  • Structure project WBS and schedule materials and labor using MRP system.
  • Manage vendors and subcontractors.
  • Resolve issues of project scope and schedule.
  • Task management.
  • Sales support.
  • Moderate level of travel to customer sites
  • As a Project Manager, could be responsible for a variable amount of proposals/estimate. These responsibilities may include
    1. Lead the proposal process and define milestones and requirements for the proposal and estimates.
    2. Ensure that proposal and estimates are complete when required.
    3. Work with all business groups to ensure that scope and risk are accounted for in the proposal.
    4. Work with engineering proposal team to generate materials and labor estimates for projects.
    5. Work with customer and sales engineer to determine project scope and requirements.
    6. Provide proposal write up for special items so deliverable are properly described in the customer proposals
    7. Manage change to estimates, record and maintain all estimate documentation and specifications.
    8. Manage estimate storage and archival folders and databases.

Job Requirements:

BS degree in Engineering with at least 5 years related experience of test facility engineering design experience with 2 years of electronics systems integration or test facility construction project management experience) OR MS degree in Engineering with at least 2 years of engineering design experience with 1 year of test facility construction or electronics systems integration project management experience).

  • Working Knowledge of powertrain testing and testing equipment. Dynamometer theory, fuel application, and test applications.
  • Working knowledge of construction management. Experience using MS Project.
  • Vehicle electrification, including battery, BMS, electric motor
  • Knowledge of EPA test procedures and emissions equipment.
  • Electrical codes knowledge (NFPA, IEC, IEEE, UL)
