Job Description

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent for a unique e-commerce platform specializing in artisanal home decor items. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for managing procurement processes and maintaining relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. If you have a keen eye for quality, exceptional negotiation skills, and a passion for discovering unique products, this project-based opportunity might be perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor Management: Source new suppliers, negotiate contracts, and build strong relationships to secure competitive pricing and maintain product quality standards.

  • Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, track stock movement, and collaborate with various teams to forecast demand and prevent stockouts. (all virtual)

  • Purchase Orders: Generate and review purchase orders to ensure accuracy, delivery deadlines, and compliance with budgetary restrictions.

  • Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality inspections of incoming products to verify adherence to specifications and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Cost Analysis: Analyze pricing trends, conduct cost-benefit analyses, and identify opportunities to optimize procurement processes.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the retail or e-commerce industry.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in procurement software such as SAP, Oracle, or Coupa.

    • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.

    • Excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and stakeholders.

  • Personal Attributes: Detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
