Carrollwood Farms is a family-owned farm for generations to come. Carrollwood Farms is dedicated to showcasing and preserving the best of rural Piedmont. Carrollwood Farms is committed to being the best in all we do.
Carrollwood Farms is a family estate farm of over 4,000 acres in North Carolina’s Stokes and Rockingham Counties. In addition to the vegetable farming division we also have an agronomy division, a building division, a grounds division, and a sitework and grading division. A hospitality division is being developed. In 2023, we donated over 2200 pounds of produce from the garden.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Report to Head Gardener to execute all tasks necessary to grow vegetables and plants in Carrollwood Farm’s present and future garden areas
RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in responsible sourcing, use, and storage of relevant gardening supplies, tools, and equipment
Participate in establishing seeds, maintaining clean growing conditions in greenhouse, and establishing and tending to garden areas
Care for vegetables, flowers, and other crops grown in Carrollwood Farms’ gardens
Plant seedlings, water seedlings, participate in irrigation usage and maintenance, grow plants to harvestable maturity, harvest produce, responsibly transport, store, and label harvest, and prepare garden areas for future crops
Ensure garden areas are kept weeded
Ensure compost is properly collected and maintained
Proper use and care of garden equipment including growing technology and garden vehicles
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Other physical demands of the job, include standing, bending, pulling, pushing, climbing, and lifting.
