The Role

As a Program Area Manager, you will oversee multiple ICAN locations, providing field-level support to Site Supervisors, Senior Youth Program Leaders and Youth Program Leaders who work with K-12 youth as part of ICAN’s in-school and afterschool programs. You will help build and manage a quality youth program that enriches our youth while ensuring uniform operations across multiple sites. Your contribution to the organization is to ensure each ICAN site has a fully functioning team with focused alignment around youth program goals and needs. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will do this by:

Leading and Motivating (40%)

  • Travel to multiple site locations in the East Valley to provide onsite managerial support to site supervisors.
  • Serve as a positive role model among ICAN youth, staff, volunteers, and community members.
  • Leads the program team through setbacks by engaging key leaders in the organization to troubleshoot program issues early, adjusting plans and communicating changes to the team throughout the process.
  • Lead performance management processes with corresponding performance improvement plans, regular 1:1s, training programs, performance reviews, coaching conversations and more.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development of site leadership by providing real-time coaching on youth, family and team interactions.
  • Effectively engage with internal leaders, peers, and the larger leadership team to proactively maintain and enhance employee satisfaction while maximizing individual performance.
  • Promoting and upholding ICAN’s mission, serving as an ambassador to the organization.
  • Upholding ICAN values and guidelines/rules accordingly.

Driving Team Growth and Development (40%)

  • Work with Human Resources to identify potential candidates for employment, through interviewing, and selecting top talent that exude our Core Values, while focusing on building bench strength.
  • Work in partnership with Human Resources to develop program team training plans.
  • Identify growth opportunities for existing site leadership through the creation and management of structured programs.
  • Schedule training and implement timelines for curriculum during the school year
  • Create and maintain a culture positive work environment and employee loyalty by keeping a pulse on employee satisfaction, burnout and flight risk.
  • Develops and monitors program team goals and holds teams accountable to reaching targets throughout the year.
  • Promoting member retention through positive, professional relations with youth and families.
  • Identifying ways to consistently improve process and structure to maximize youth experiences.

Driving Operational Efficiency (20%)

  • Manage core operational functions and provide support to local sites.
  • Collaborate closely with the COO to ensure program deliverables and evaluation schedules are met
  • Monitor progress and facilitation of program curriculum.
  • Oversees and approves annual program calendars for all sites in partnership with Site Supervisors
  • Review all program incident reports, including mandated reporting of suspected abuse and neglect.
  • Oversees youth and family engagement activities and events, ensuring they meet organizational goals and program design needs
  • Works in partnership with the Operations Team to collect client feedback, making necessary adjustments in order to better meet client needs.
  • Conducts regular informal program observations at all sites to ensure programs are delivered with consistent quality in accordance with the program design and goals.
  • Oversee program department budget in accordance to sites allocations.
  • Provide approval on supply ordering for each site.
  • Oversee curriculum mapping to ensure youth classroom activities meet program criteria.
  • Prepare and provide updates to the COO on performance and the impact of partnerships within the organization.
  • Works with Site Supervisors and Program Engagement Manager to ensure all program contract deliverables are tracked and deliverables met by assigned program manager.
  • In collaboration with the COO, leads the implementation of new curriculum introduced, including training for staff, communication and monitoring to ensure its successful;
  • Support the COO in developing and updating the annual Program Framework.
  • Research curriculum based on the annual Program Framework and provide recommendations to the COO to help achieve program goals.
  • Maintain ICAN's Client Journey documentation, which clarifies the activities delivered each year and high level outcomes to be met.
  • Ensuring uniform operations across multiple sites managing additional responsibilities as they arise.
Requirements:

Experience/Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of Social Work, Education or related field of study or 2 years experience in youth program facilitation and implementation
  • Minimum 5 years of direct management experience, preferably across multiple teams/ sites/locations
  • Minimum of 21 years old and valid AZ driver’s license
  • Proven operational excellence in driving consistency across teams
  • Dependable vehicle with proof of current registration and valid insurance.
  • Ability to travel between ICAN sites daily/weekly.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
