Things to Know:

  • This is a part-time roll working about 20-28 hours per week and is paid hourly.
  • This is a temporary roll that is expected to work for twelve (12) weeks from the date of hire. The role will be re-evaluated close to the end of the assignment to determine if an extension is needed. An extension of the assignment is not guaranteed.
  • This role may become a permanent, full-time position at the conclusion of the initial twelve (12) weeks, but is not guaranteed. 
  • There may be travel requirements up to 25% of the time (mostly to and from office or to local events) when needed.
  • This role will be in a hybrid remote/office environment.
  • The shift schedule will be determined between the selected applicant and the manager and will be within the hours of 8:00pm-5:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Job Summary: 
The Instructional Designer is responsible for end-to-end program development and project management and will audit existing training to ensure it achieves its goals and meets the requirements of any applicable regulations, standards, and quality guidelines. The Instructional Designer is also responsible for representing the values of Energy Worldnet when interacting with internal and external stakeholders.


In this role, the Instructional Designer ensures the development and delivery of effective eLearning programs in platforms such as Articulate, Storyline, and CenarioVR to enhance learners’ knowledge and skills. The Instructional Designer will utilize their expertise in curriculum development, instructional design methodologies, and adult education principles to
ensure online training is effective, compelling, and meets stakeholder requirements.


The Instructional Designer must be able to influence innovation, quality, and predictability for continuous improvement, focus on execution, and have a strong passion for excellence.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Utilize instructional design methodologies (such as ADDIE, Bloom’s, Kirkpatrick’s, etc.) to ensure end-to-end development of training content, from project analysis to evaluation
  • Engage directly with clients and stakeholders to identify training needs, establish project strategies and roadmaps, and make educated suggestions regarding proposed learning content
  • Design and develop compelling and robust eLearning content that aligns with clients’ regulatory and internal needs using course authoring tools
  • Audit the effectiveness of new and legacy eLearning content
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, internal stakeholders, and members of the Education team as needed to ensure the accuracy and quality of the final product
  • Maintain project documentation and file/folder structure
  • Assess effectiveness and impact of training on employee skills and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Act as the point of contact and project manager for developing training for outside stakeholders
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games, etc.)
  • Perform other related job functions as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

KNOWLEDGE OF

  • Advanced adult learning and content development strategies and methodologies (ADDIE, Bloom’s, Kirkpatrick’s, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of how to use eLearning software to build and deploy course materials
  • Techniques and methods of planning, organizing, and writing eLearning content
  • Basic graphic design and UX/UI principles
  • Learning Management Systems (LMS) and eLearning platforms
  • Traditional and modern job training methods and techniques


SKILLED IN

  • Effectively managing multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Analyzing content and implementing learning methodologies and models to ensure the integrity of internal and external content

  • Work independently to address the needs of internal and external stakeholders for the development of technical and/or educational content
  • Complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate)
  • Author Operator Qualification (OQ) content in the EWN platform at an expert level
  • Consistently complete work with a focus on quality and time management


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR at least four (4) years of relevant experience
  • Experience using course authoring tools (Articulate, Lectora, CenarioVR, etc.)
  • Experience as an Instructional Developer, Designer, or similar role
  • Experience with e-learning platforms
  • Proficiency in the KSAs above


Preferred Qualifications and KSAs:

  • Master’s degree in a related field OR at least six (6) years of relevant experience
  • Project management experience or certification
  • Advanced skills in Atriculate Storyline and Rise
  • Experience with TalentLMS
  • Bilingual – Spanish
  • Oil, gas, or energy industry or SaaS business model experience
