JOB TITLE: COURT COORDINATOR I
DIVISION: DOMESTIC RELATIONS DIVISION
UNION: TEAMSTERS LOCAL 700

SALARY: ENTRY LEVEL: $61,024
Job Summary and Duties: The Court Coordinator I is employed by the Office of the Chief Judge and reports to the Division Administrator of the Domestic Relations Division and the judge to whom he or she is assigned. The applicant must possess a high degree of integrity, discretion, maintain professionalism, and be able to assist his or her assigned judge both in the courtroom and other duties as required. In addition, the court coordinator may be called upon to assist the Presiding Judge’s Office of the Domestic Relations Division as needed. These duties may include but are not limited to being assigned to another courtroom on a temporary basis.
The following are the duties and responsibilities of the Court Coordinator:
- Coordinate judicial schedules and daily team assignments;
- Organize daily cases, particularly with respect to assignment of prove-ups and defaults in conjunction with availability of court reporters;
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of court files;
- Verify that the cases on the judge’s pending case list are accurate and if they are not, draft orders for judge’s signature to remove the cases from the pending case list;
- Access the Clerk of the Circuit Court’s computer docket system each day;
- Keep records of cases assigned within the team;
- If the judge uses the Progress Notes Program, add new cases and update current cases to the program according to the case inventory;
- Assist in scheduling mediators on mediation intake and mediation status dates for the Preliminary or Individual Calendar and trial judges on team;
- Assist attorneys, litigants and judges with various inquiries by phone and in person and provide individuals with the proper orders to be entered by the judge;
- Schedule pre-trial conferences, status calls, motion dates, hearing and trial dates;
- Coordinate with the Clerk of the Circuit Court in assigning cases to suburban Districts;
- Coordinate scheduling of team meetings, judges’ vacation and time off calendars;
- Arrange referrals to FMS and Focus on Children;
- Assist the Division Administrator with projects assigned by the Presiding Judge’s Office;
- If assigned to the Daley Center: Serve as receptionist (as assigned) in the Presiding Judge’s Office or CL 24.
- Assist the Division Administrator with projects or assignments by the Presiding Judge’s Office;

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred;
- Domestic Relations courtroom experience preferred;
- Ability to respond and follow through with proper procedures required by the Court;
- Knowledge of how cases proceed through the system, and forms, documents and procedures associated with same;
- Excellent computer skills;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Proficient with Adobe Acrobat Reader and Adobe Fill and Sign;
- Proficient with navigating through high volume of emails.
- Ability to work cooperatively and integrate with legal and non-legal personnel.
Other Requirements:
Working conditions/physical requirements:
- On a continuous basis, sit at a desk for long periods of time in front of a computer screen;
- Intermittently twist to reach equipment or supplies surrounding desk;
- Perform simple grasping and fine manipulation;
- Strength to lift files weighing up to 20 pounds;
- Use telephone and computer keyboard on a daily basis.
