CARESTL HEALTH is a Non for Profit, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving St. Louis communities and school-based operations.


CareSTL Health is seeking an Administrative Fellow. The Administrative Fellow is responsible for collaborating with team members from the Executive Leadership, Leadership, and Front Line team on both the Clinical and Non-Clinical side. Under the direction of a Fellowship Preceptor, the Fellow will collaborate with Ancillary Services, Nursing, Facilities, Operations, Pharmacy, and Revenue Cycle Management on projects and initiatives that will enhance the overall patient experience. This position has responsibility for demonstrating the core values of CareSTL Health: Customer Service, Community, Commitment, Compassion, and Competence.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Administrative Fellow may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. Other duties may be assigned.


  1. Lead projects that develop analytical, leadership, finance, and health care operations skills.
  2. Exhibit an understanding of health care administration, health industry trends, and an understanding of the organizational structure and mission.
  1. Support project and operational needs through data analysis, interpretation, and presentation
  2. Participates in department quality improvement activities, staff educational programs, attends departmental meetings, and demonstrates and maintains clinical competency in the delivery of patient care services in accordance with Company guidelines
  1. Ensure communication of goals, objectives, policies, and procedures both up and down the chain of command through meetings, huddles and other forms of communication

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Build effective health care management skills and the ability to work with administrative leaders, as well as physician, non-clinical and clinical leaders
  • Responsible for creating, updating and maintaining policies and procedures related to clinical operations
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with rules and regulations that impact clinic operations, including participation in audits
  • Attends as a participant-observer for multiple selected meetings of departments, as relevant.
  • Provides administrative support to leadership by arranging meetings, maintaining calendars, and recording meeting minutes.
  • Supports senior management team by recommending best practices based on healthcare trends.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail and consistency and meet multiple deadlines in a timely manner.
  • Responds to needs and participates in the timely resolution of problems that arise from time to time.
  • Assists with progress tracking as it relates to project plan, schedule, and post project tasks.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Master's degree (MHA, MBA, MHSA, MPH) completed from a U.S. based university, preferably from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME); however, applicants from non-CAHME programs will be accepted for review.

Experience:

  • 3-4 years of experience in community based health center, or related program operations preferred.

Additional Information:

Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
11 paid holidays per year.
