Who You Are

As an experienced and driven Quality Manager at the Moses Lake Factory, you will help start up a novel production facility and build a Quality team to supply Sila's innovative products to customers. You will be the leader on championing, setting and maintaining high quality standards for our site operations, driving a culture of continuous improvement to ensure we meet or exceed industry standards and customer requirements. You will lead the build, maintenance, and improvement of our quality management system and oversee the startup of the quality control laboratory at the site.

Responsibilities And Duties
  • Hire/build the site's Quality team; coach, and support talent through consistent feedback, navigation of challenges, and celebration of wins
  • Build, maintain, and improve the site's quality management system while aligning with corporate quality standards
  • Oversee the startup and sustained operation/improvement of the site's quality control laboratory
  • Champion, set, and maintain the site's Quality culture and continuous improvement capabilities
  • Oversee key quality workflows including new product introduction, PFMEA, manufacturing control plan, management of change, quality control testing, product disposition, certificate of analysis, calibration, material review board, nonconformance, corrective/preventive actions, process/product monitoring, continuous improvement, and risk management
  • Collaborate with other functions to implement and improve key quality-related data systems including the laboratory information management system, statistical process/quality control, certificate of analysis, and manufacturing execution system
  • Communicate Quality performance to all levels of the organization and oversee site readiness for internal, customer, and certification body audits
Knowledge And Skill Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree or higher
    • Minimum of 10 years of work experience in an ISO, IATF, or GMP certified industrial setting; minimum of 5 years of experience managing people; high volume manufacturing experience in semiconductor, PV, chemical industry, batteries or similar is preferred; experience with bulk materials preferred
    • Quality Management Systems: Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 16949 and strong experience running a quality management system compliant with these standards is required; experience being audited (both internally and externally) to these standards is required; knowledge of VDA is preferred
    • Quality Workflows: Strong experience with key quality workflows such as new product introduction, PFMEA, manufacturing control plan, management of change, quality control testing, product disposition, certificate of analysis, calibration, material review board, nonconformance, corrective/preventive actions, process/product monitoring, and risk management
    • Communication and teamwork: Excellent written and oral communication skills; effective working cross-functionally; ability to effectively communicate to leadership, customers, auditors, and to plant staff; ability to influence site quality culture
    • Critical thinking, learning, and autonomy: strong critical thinking skills; comfortable with ambiguity and effective in creating structure; ability to learn quickly and work autonomously
    • Continuous improvement: Strong problem solving and continuous improvement skills, experience, and mindset; lean six sigma certification is preferred
    • Leadership and management ability: Skilled at hiring and building teams; skilled at coaching and supporting talent through consistent feedback; skilled at navigation of challenges and celebration of wins; able to establish a strong site quality culture and set a vision for the team #LI-PL1 #LI-Onsite

The starting base pay for this role is between $155,000 to $195,000 at the time of posting. The actual base pay depends on many factors, such as education, experience, and skills. Base pay is only one part of Sila's competitive Total Rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity.
